Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How did you decide on your location?
A: We have been residents of the town of Belford for more that 50 years.  We grew up here, went to school here, some of us got married here and then had kids who now go to the same school that we went to when we were young.  This is our home town and we wanted to establish the brewery in the town we know and love.  We have many friends that come and see us every week that we have known ever since we were kids.
Q: What kinds of beers do you specialize in?
A: Our expertise is in English, Belgian, and German style beers.  A couple of our offerings are our flagship “Lobster Pot”, an English style Nut Brown ale, our “Pro Multis”, a Belgian Style Tripel and our “Dunkel”, a Bavarian Style dark lager.  We also craft some very smooth lagers like “Leonardville Lager”, a classic American lager and “Wetside” Pilsner, another SMASH lager made using Czech Saaz hops and Czech Pilsen malt.
Q: How big is your brewhouse?
A: We currently brew with a five barrel brewhouse and have two fermentation rooms.  They contain a mix of five barrel uni-tanks, two barrel fermenters and brite tanks and some smaller fermentation vessels for one-off special batches.
Q: Do you offer food at the brewer?
A: In NJ, a brewery cannot make food on premise for consumption by customers.  We allow food to be brought into the brewery.  There is an assortment of small restaurants offering various styles and selections of food within in close walking distance.
Q: Are children allowed in the brewery?
A: Families and children are always welcome but we ask that small children be supervised.
Q: Do you offer free Wifi?
A: Yes we do.  Please ask an employee for the password to connect.
Q: Are you dog friendly?
A: Yes, we are dog friendly but all pets must be leashed.
Q: When did you open your doors to the public?
A: It was on Saturday August 1st International Beer Day in 2014.
Q: Can I bring my own food?
A: Yes, we allow outside food.  The “Junction” were we are located has a variety of food options that goes well with beer, including, Pizza, Chinese and Mexican food.
Q: When are your tasting rooms open?
A: Our Regular Hours are as follows:
Thursday: 5:00PM-8:00PM
Friday: 5:00PM-8:00PM
Saturday: 2:00PM-6:00PM
Sunday: 1:00PM-5:00PM

Please always check for special holiday hours.

Q: Do you give tours at the brewery?
A: Yes, as tours are required by NJ State Statue.  Prior to COVID-19 we regularly would provide physical tours but now we offer an informational sheet that depicts and describes the brewing process.
Q: What is C.O.D?
A: Catch of the Day (C.O.D) are experimental very small batches of beer that have been brewed as varaiations on a recipe (theme). We will frequently make a little more of a base beer and put it in a very small fermenter (tippy) and then add or modify ingredients and yeasts to try something new. About a third of the time the batch will show promise and it brewed in a bigger batch and is given it’s own label. Notable beers that have come out of this method and have been given their own label are CINCO Jalapeno Rye and Very Berry Wit.
Q: Do you have outdoor seating?
A: Yes.  We have outdoor seating directly behind the brewery that can be accessed via the brewery or from outside.  We call the outdoor space the “Beer Pen”.  We also have outdoor heating for when the weather gets cold
